00:30:26: those elements didn't try push the boundaries of experimentation and like, you know, improvisation.
00:30:35: And really just kind of explore alternative jazz and try to explore new different areas.

00:43:21: Yep,
00:43:21: I remember you told me usually work on a certain type of beat and had to come up with new ideas.

00:43:30: when you heard my stuff so... You know it's dope man if i can elevate the level again push boundaries music again bro Superdope.
00:43:42: Oh yeah it was definitely inspiring To hear something a little different than how you usually do it because I'm also a producer.
00:43:54: so i You know, I produce.
00:43:56: I produced some But I have a certain...I think by the time like I finish my production It's just like..I can't really rhyme to it Like when I am hearing from your hands and its fresh And that is just something That Is an interpretation or way that wouldn't necessarily think about And it just kind of sparked something in my mind like Like conceptually, you know what I mean?
00:44:24: There's a lot ideas came from that.
00:44:26: We had Kind of nice collection of concepts.
00:44:31: You know each song has different direction Very different songs.
00:44:36: It was kinda interesting how they all come together.
00:44:40: Yeah if only people could see How we worked on and get to live the experience They'd be amazed.
00:44:49: And let's go back in time, you know because your MC also produced like what made you want to start your career and take things seriously?
00:45:01: Well I never really thought about it as a career originally You know.
00:45:07: I was just always very passionate about hip-hop from a very young age growing up with Run DMC Fat Boys and LL Cool J and EPMD Stuff like that.
00:45:22: Like Everybody there was coming out had a totally different sound out.
00:45:27: You know, it wasn't no fake in the funk or biting or nothing like that.
00:45:32: you have to really come with your own originality and That's something about that really spoke to me I think.
00:45:38: so It took awhile for me to say why you interested music?
00:45:43: I was originally a graffiti artist Very blessed from very young age.
00:45:49: I was doing comic books and doing actually commercial works like as an artist, getting paid in high school to do art.
00:46:00: So i was on the track to be a full-time visual artists illustrator painter you know?
00:46:08: It kind of segwayed into events and promotions And started doing flyers Started doing my own event You know with our crew mad crew Originally and then you know like a lot of people in the crew They were there.
00:46:26: We're, you know beat makers that we're emcees And I dabble with poetry and get into My rhymes little bit here-and-there.
00:46:36: Mostly Cypher's you know on the streets?
00:46:39: He spent a lot time out there just So you don't do as young Young crazy kids.
00:46:46: but um is something about.
00:46:50: You know the lyrics man.
00:46:52: I just you know, it really kept me in a positive direction going through a lot of turbulence and you know kept me kept me saying you don't get me positive and moving into good directions.
00:47:05: so I um Yeah Just kept.
00:47:10: you know finding myself being grounded Grounded in music And they kept me do some really tough times Really started taking.
00:47:22: I guess you could say seriously once You know our we had like a sub crew within mad crew called Cypher Alliance and um, you Know it was a crew of MCs And We also kicked with the lot of other crews Even though in the scene.
00:47:41: You know It Was very Competitious and we were always you know on Street ciphers and even starting to make our way into shows.
00:47:50: Back then, there wasn't really a lot of shows like that.
00:47:56: It was very few shows actually.
00:47:58: so we were earning our stripes in different ways.
00:48:02: You know parties and Folklife...actually you've been to the Folklifestival.
00:48:06: That's one of their very few all-agent spaces at that time.
00:48:14: We can go into folklife.
00:48:17: We battled, we did ender cyphers and stuff.
00:48:22: Anyways a lot of us came together in the crew And ended up renting an house.
00:48:28: It was across street from where I lived on Beacon Hill.
00:48:35: The whole house was recording studio.
00:48:39: it's crazy.
00:48:40: Everybody put our gear like Voltron Like.
00:48:46: I got the S you know, the SP to MPC The the Rawlands in there.
00:48:52: We had the eight tracks and then later we have the sixteen track recorder.
00:48:56: like that.
00:48:56: they're all in piece.
00:48:59: You know it was just like a dedicated studio?
00:49:03: We had like mad turntables in their life.
00:49:05: A lot of us were straight-up turntable list lights scratch maniacs.
00:49:11: No any time at the day or night we would be having sessions and a lot of records got recorded out there, you know?
00:49:18: So that's kind of like where fuel some of the early earliest.
00:49:23: Like okay this is for real!
00:49:27: We were there for number years And then eventually just kind of evolved into our own mad crew or Mad K evolved from graffiti crew to production crew you know record a record label basically.
00:49:46: and So yeah, it was there.
00:49:48: Was kind of the beginning.
00:49:49: lot of us aside for Alliance We started doing little tours You know originally?
00:49:55: It was you know Seattle Tacoma A lot of this.
00:49:59: we go to Canada because is three only at Three Hour Drive And you don't year in your in Canada whole whole different country, you know.
00:50:07: Yeah, and uh There was a connection called two oh six oh four because six oh four was an area code for For that part of Canada and two or six is a Seattle area code.
00:50:22: And so we combined like, you know Like a network Between the bunch different crews and stuff.
00:50:31: So we come up to go out there for shows.
00:50:33: then they would come down.
00:50:35: You know We kind of built this This little community basically in collective.
00:50:42: Yeah, you know it just kept going.
00:50:46: You always been traveling like.
00:50:47: you're not going to Seattle or Canada.
